Delta Gamma

Delta Kappa Chapter at University of South Florida

Philanthropy Events

Delta Gamma women believe it is important to follow and live by our motto: Do Good. Each year, DGs internationally dedicate over 120,000 hours to Service for Sight, Delta Gamma's Foundation. Locally, we work with various organizations throughout the Tampa Bay area such as Southeastern Guide Dogs, Lion's Eye Institute, Prevent Blindness Florida, and many others. This past year we have taken part in vision screenings, puppy hugging (which allows guide dogs to become acclimated to sights and sounds that they will encounter when becoming a guide dog), and many events with Lion's Eye Institute, such as Race for Sight (a 5K to help raise awareness and funds for the gift of sight). We have also gotten involved in USF's on-campus South Eastern Guide Dogs Club by working hand in hand on events, donating money towards there cause, and lending a helping hand in any way.

On top of our Foundation we also commit ourselves to helping our community. Throughout the year we volunteer over 1,000 hours and take part in helping many organizations by donating our time and raising money for charities. Philanthropy and service is a huge part of being a Delta Gamma. Just look at our motto: Do Good. We take pride in helping others and build a better version of ourselves by doing so.

ANCHORSPLASH:

Every year the Delta Kappa chapter at USF hosts Anchor Splash. Anchor Splash is our main philanthropic event in the fall semester.  It is a synchronized swimming and dancing competition. Other campus organizations take part in the competition to raise funds and awareness for our Foundation. In the past year, the Delta Kappa chapter has raised over $43,000 for Service for Sight!
